Meet the staff

Bob MacKenzie, Manager

Bob MacKenzie has managed the Plant Operations Support program since its inception in 1996 from Olympia. Prior to this rewarding assignment Bob served as Manager of Facilities Operations for the State Capitol Campus and as Public Affairs Manager of the Washington State Housing Finance Commission in Seattle. He holds three Master degrees, including an MBA, MPA and an MA in Electronic Mass Communications.  Bob is the recipient of the prestigious 2002 Governor’s Distinguished Manager Sustaining Leader Award.  Key assignments in military command, organizational audit/evaluation, public works and executive public relations positions are noteworthy.

Larry Covey, Project Manager

Larry joined the Plant Operations Support team in March 2007 after seven years in private industry as a project manager with Centennial Contractors.  He graduated from Saint Martin's College (now Saint Martin's University) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  He is a LEED Accredited Professional and has experience in a variety of projects arenas, from heavy civil/architectural to mechanical and electrical environments. He brings a broad array of project and construction management skills to member activities and has access to a host of resources. Larry looks forward to meeting you and learning about how he can bring enhanced value to your operations.

Phil Partington, Program Coordinator

Phil joined the Consortium staff in June 2002 and brings a variety of skills with him.  He graduated from Saint Martin's College (now Saint Martin's University) in May 2003 with a BA in English and a minor in Business Administration.  He does website maintenance, is assistant editor of Shop Talk, assists with custodial assessments, project management, while responding to day-to-day member requests. He is also on the annual Energy/Facilities Connections Conference coordinating team and creates the majority of marketing documents and publications for the program. Sue Brown, Program Coordinator

Sue joined POS in October 2005 having already worked for General Administration for three and a half years in an administrative capacity. She started working for the State of Washington in 1999 with the Department of Health and Community Trade and then Economic Development, before eventually landing at GA. Sue manages POS contracts and handles the administrative needs for the POS team. She also helps conduct facility assessments and is on the annual Energy/Facilities Connections Conference coordinating team.
