General Administration's green building program
A number of local issues have sparked interest in green building, including the listing of Washington salmon as endangered species, summer/fall water shortages, and the recent energy crisis.
In response to these environmental issues, there is a call for state government to lead the way with socially and environmentally responsible design and construction practices. The public also demands that State Government be more efficient and productive. Green building is one way to achieve these goals.
GA has a unique opportunity to provide leadership in green building and has expertise available to assist State agencies, school districts, and local governments with sustainable design and construction services. These services can be customized to fit your needs. Assistance can range from a generalized presentation about green building to design review assistance, or a sustainable design charrette that establishes goals for the project to assistance with construction waste management.
