The Ceiling
This ceiling is found at the north porch of the
capitol building. The rosettes are made from sandstone and in Ancient
Rome they stood for beauty.
The floor and walls of the Rotunda and surrounding hallways are made from Tokeen Marble that is found in Alaska. It
comes in light and dark gray, and as you can see the use the darker
gray is used to make designs on the floor and walls.
The Senate Flowers
These flowers are found in the Senate. In Greek
times, the oak leaves on these flowers stand for honesty and
beauty.
The Two Portraits

These portraits repeat themselves and run across
the ceiling in a constant pattern. The picture on the left is a boat,
the one on the right is a logging truck.
The Lamp
This lamp is located in the back of the capitol
building.
A chandelier
This is an example of the several chandeliers that
show up throughout the building. Many of the chandeliers were
manufactured by the Tiffany Studios in New York.
