Who can use motor pool vehicles?

  • Anyone traveling on agency-approved state business who has a valid driver's license.
  • Students who attend state educational institutions who are participating in official school activities or programs.

Note: Vehicles may not be used to transport passengers who are not on official state business.

 

 

What happens if I get a ticket?

Employees cited for motor vehicle violations (including parking) while on state business are responsible for paying all fines or costs.

 

 How are motor pool vehicles insured?

The state of Washington is self-insured for motor vehicle liability.

 

What if I have an accident?

  • Get help for the injured.
  • Complete the Accident Report Form found in the glove compartment.
  • Call the Accident Management Service, CEI, at 1-877-443-5777 as soon as possible and give them the accident information.
  • Notify your supervisor.

 

What should I do if my motor pool vehicle breaks down after hours or on a weekend?

  • If your vehicle is not under the three-year/36,000 mile warranty, have it towed to the nearest repair facility.
  • Vehicles still under warranty must be to towed to the nearest manufacturer's repair facility. If available, use the manufacturer's free roadside service.
  • Call the Motor Pool at 1-800-542-6840 and leave a message regarding the incident.
