Capitol Lake Adaptive Management Plan Steering Committee

In 1997, General Administration organized the Capitol Lake Adaptive Management Plan Steering Committee. The committee, a nine-member group of state, local and tribal government representatives, advises General Administration on the long-term management of Capitol Lake.

The committee is scheduled to recommend one of four alternatives for the future of Capitol Lake in August 2009. The recommendation goes to Linda Bremer, General Administration director.

Bremer will consider the committee’s recommendation and the studies that have gone into this effort before taking this issue to the State Capitol Committee later this year.

At a July 2, 2009 committee meeting, the directors of the state departments of Ecology, Fish and Wildlife and Natural Resources provided a letter Adobe Icon recommending the removal of the Capitol Lake dam and restoration of an estuary.

Public comment is still welcome. Please use the online feedback form found on this Web site.
