Assistive listening systems

Note:  Assistive listening technology may help individuals who have difficulty hearing, but they are not a one-size-fits-all solution.  It is essential to involve the individual requesting the accommodation when selecting a system.

  • Provides the listener a clear voice (free of background noise) and the ability to adjust the volume through a head set or steno-clip, or a neck loop which transmits the signal to a hearing aid.
  • Transmits an FM signal to a receiver up to 100 yards
  • Up to 10 receivers are available for a single event
  • Different configurations are available for different types of settings (see table below)

Air purifiers may help people with multiple chemical sensitivities.

  • Setting up an air purifier can accommodate a person who may benefit from improved the air quality in a meeting or workshop.
  • Organizers can also request that participants limit the amount of cologne, perfume and scented products used during the workshop or meeting.
